Notes from the new Mid-Atlantic Farm Show
No posts yesterday. I was in Charlotte for the revamped Mid-Atlantic Farm Show. The show, which used to be held in Wilson, N.C., was bought by a new management company and moved to Concord, N.C., about 15 miles outside of Charlotte.
The new management company looks like they have done a good job with promoting and organizing the show. The facility was a bit nicer than years past, and they’ve forged partnerships with local radio stations and media. More food vendors, too.
Traffic in the show was light on Thursday when we were there around the middle of the day. Not sure if this was the result of the new show venue, nice weather keeping farmers in the field, or the fact that the show was charging admission for the first time.
Organizers and many of the vendors thought traffic would pick up today and Saturday.
Pioneer was there, as well as a smattering of smaller seed companies.

Thanks for visiting us Matt! Indeed the Farm Show was a bit slow on Thursday, but enjoyed a pick-up on Friday and Saturday for a total 383% increase in attendance according to former vendor crowd estimates from the previous year’s event in Wilson. Our vendors seemed pleased and we are gearing up for Nov 1-3, 2007 at the Cabarrus Arena in Concord, NC. It promises to be bigger and better! Folks are already requesting vendor applications! Come grow with us and see all things agriculture. Thanks for your support!
Hi Jolyn,
Thanks for having us. Glad to hear things picked up on Friday and Saturday.
Looking forward to next year.
